We couldn’t function without wonderful volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help in every aspect of our operation.
There are so many ways to get involved: fundraising, working with students, crushing cans, selling merchandise, community outreach, writing articles, designing graphics and more. If you have a skill you would like to donate, let us know. We can definitely find something for you to do.
RECYCLE ST. JOHN
Our can crushing operation, our biggest grassroots project, is powered by volunteers. With the efforts of the community, IGLA provides St. John its only opportunity to recycle. Volunteers pick up aluminum cans up from the bins at the drop sites to drop them off at the Resource Depot. During designated times. we urge people to take pride in their paradise and preserve it by keeping the recyclable material from out of the landfill. Volunteer tasks are simple! A major component is sorting the cans to ensure that only aluminum is entered into the crusher. We encourage volunteers to bring gloves and water.
